Mr. Wittekind specializes in the areas of medical malpractice,
professional liability, insurance coverage and insurance
defense litigation. Mr. Wittekind has significant trial
experience in catastrophic personal injury cases, insurance
coverage matters, and commercial litigation actions.
Mr. Wittekind as also received Martindale Hubbell’s
highest rating, AV.
Mr. Wittekind received his undergraduate degree from
the University of Connecticut, magna cum laude and Phi
Beta Kappa, in 1981. After one year of study toward
a Master of Business Administration at the University
of Connecticut, Mr. Wittekind went on to receive his
Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Notre
Dame in 1985.
Mr. Wittekind was formerly a partner at the law firm
of Snell & Wilmer, Arizona’s largest law firm,
where he practiced for 13 years before leaving to form
Kent & Wittekind, P.C. He is the chairman of an
Arizona State Bar Disciplinary Hearing Committee and
is an active judge pro tem in the Superior Court of
Arizona. Mr. Wittekind is a member of the Defense Research
Institute, the Arizona Association of Health Care Lawyers,
the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel, the Maricopa
County Bar Association and the American Bar Association
Tort and Insurance Practice Section. Mr. Wittekind is
the author of What Physicians Should Expect from Their
Insurer-Retained Attorneys in Medical Malpractice Cases,
Survey of Anesthesiology (December, 1993).
Mr. Wittekind is admitted to practice in the United
States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals
for the Ninth Circuit, the United States District Court
and the State of Arizona.
